As an owner in this league, you will have the ability to create your own custom rookie that you have exclusive rights to. The ratings will be based on a combination of position, requested specialties and chosen height/weight. All players will have similar OVRs to start (low 70s). All created rookies will be 22 years old with QUICK progression.

You can design yourself, an NFL legend or a celebrity.

These players will be designed for you to progress and will have the potential to be very good.

Here is the link to the creation thread:

----Sample Player Request----
[Player Name]
Jim Lebow
[Description/Picture]
Hunky
[Position]
QB
[Height/Weight]
6'3 235
[Specialty] *what your player will be best at, ratings-wise
Mobility
[Mold] *who you want your player to resemble overall in the future
Tim Tebow

Each player's final ratings will be decided upon by a group of us to ensure fairness.

You have between now and the draft to post your requested player, but the sooner you get it posted, the easier it will be for us to be ready to create them when the game is out because we will have them outlined already.

Please post player requests in the creation thread, not here. This thread can be used for discussion if necessary.

Voting was just to gauge interest. This is going to be a part of the league. We're going to try something new.

There will be absolutely no player that gets crazy starting stats. No 6'5 95 spd wrs, etc. All of them will be fair.

Just go with it, it'll turn out well.

But the interest was an overwhelming.....umm, "no". Forcing a trade commitee is one thing if the votes don't turn, but forcing new players into the league...really? I was down for it if the votes went that way! But I voted no. It seems like an absolute headache!! So here comes 30 QB's and 2 RB's. it takes away from the draft and allows people to ignore a position. Every1 will create a fast QB. How does this sound like a good "sim" idea to you? Is this because Tim Tebow may not be in the game? (No offense, I am a die hard Gator Fan!)

Maybe if it were only defense it wouldn't make me sick thinking about all the cheese we are going to have to digest!

"So lets just add 15 Cam Newton babies, and 16 RG3 babies" this is not good

It won't be nearly as bad as you think. No one will be able to make any of those qbs. The 3 so far have been defense by the way...

These are project players. None will be great out of the gate. You have to develop them.

I voted no but either way the players will be shitty and there should be a speed cap and height cap on positions especially at qb imo nothing too stupid. Basically it's just adding an extra rookie draft. It will effect the fantasy draft tho if ppl create a qb they won't draft one create a rb they won't make rb priority in the draft. Could be a big deal or it could be nothing we will see.

There are players like this already in the game! RB (Denard Robinson) QB (Tyrod Taylor) but these players are not gauranteed! Why not just do an lottery for players under a certain rating? That way there are no arguments on stats.

The players will be rated like typical late 1st/2nd round rookies, with good upside if you put the work in. Making ridiculous players is not the intention. Just have fun with it. It's not even a huge deal. It's definitely nowhere near "game breaking".

There are rating caps. No players will be rated stupidly. All ratings will be made public before it's official anyway, and people can speak up if they feel one needs adjusted.

You'd have to put tons of work in to make that QB good enough to start, so...

And I'd see no problem with that. It's not like you can create an RG3 clone, or anything close to that. The most speed I'd ever consider giving one of these created QBs is like 80 spd, and that would only be if all the chosen aspects were right for it.

NONE of these players will be unfair.

Instantly solves the problem Meth! (IMO). A created RB if stats are done correctly will just be a backup. Others could be a role player depending on your draft. A created QB just causes to many problems. Sorry if I came off bad, just caught off guard by the thread after seeing the poll results. Now it sounds kinda interesting. Might be hard to sell 32 owners on tho. I think there may need to be a no trade clause on these guys as well, maybe for at least 2 years etc.

Is the game that bad/ or the rookies this terriblethat we need to do this? It just seems like something you do with an offline franchise by yourslef, not in a competitive 32 man league.

I consider "sim"; A simulation style of Madden. Oriented towards fair play and competition. A sim league would withhold the same standards and create a simulated NFL experince. I don't see how created players falls into my "sim" way of thinking.

QB- 532 yards passing = not sim
Running hurry up/ read option EVERY play = not sim
Nano blitzig = not sim
Quitting out = not sim

SIM = we want to play "Madden 15", Not "Blitz 15"

See, everything you just mentioned was about gameplay, nothing there would eliminate some custom rookies from being added to the mix...in a VIDEO GAME. Especially since there's no way in hell for anyone to create a qb from this that is anywhere close to the "fastest qb in existence".

This is "create a rookie", not "create a superstar"

Sip said "a qb with 95 speed". That would be the fastest QB ever in Madden. (Can't remember Peak Vick's stats. Think he had 95.)
You are absolutely right about it not affecting gameplay. It does affect draft stratigies! A player would have a positional guarentee. If it is at a position they feel comfortable usering then they could avoid that position and use the picks elsewhere. I would prefer to keep the concentration on creating a great league (outside of this), on things like sliders, yardage limits to prevent cheesy stat boosting, methods to solve the trade raping issue, reaching out to operation sports/ea forums for quality users, etc. Now the focus is on creating a player guarenteed to be on your team.

This could be interesting, but I am not sure if it is worth the trouble/drama it IS going to cause. It is going to be very difficult to convince 32 people that this is a good idea (def users from forums). Then comes the arguments about stats! If you truly are dedicated to this happening then maybe try and form a few "dry run" ratings concepts for a few positions. List out what you are thinking ratings wise (speed, str, awr, etc) for a few positions. It would help ease some minds.

"Explaining shit to retards" you had to take it there?
Read all my posts in this entire forum and point out where I have done something not meant to better the league. You sir on the other hand have called me a "retard", referred that "creating a 95 speed" qb wouldn't be a bad idea, and I have read about your past (owners complaing about you). I am college educated and have supervised more than 18 as my subordinates. I am trying to look at this from a "32 man league", and not from a "what I want" point of view. The leagues I was in previously operated from a majority rules way of thinking. I assumed this was the same due to a thread full of voting polls.

(Sip) Please get off your high horse and treat this as a open discussion. I have expressed that I would prefer not to do it, but also tried to help give suggestions for it to happen smoothly.

Sip's always on a horse.

We do operate with input from everyone, but sometimes we'll implement new things without a winning vote because people are normally resistant to change -- but change is good sometimes. Nothing would ever progress if we accepted subjective nay votes on new ideas/ways of doing things without at the very least giving them a chance.

I agree that new things are often pushed aside to keep people in their comfort zone.

Meth, do you not agree that this will be a hard sell to 32 owners?

Could you please give me what you would consider appropriate stats for an athletic 3-4 OLB that was created.

Look Sip, I am here to play Madden. If I cheese out a game against you, then come talk shit to me! Take a step back and realize that my intentions are to try and help this community of players...that's all. If you aren't trying to be productive, then go post in another thread.

-Meth-
I see from the two examples you gave that you want to give the created players good physical stats and low intangibles. You kept the physical stats about the same as I was thinking.

I think that the created players should be developmental role players. I don't think that we should rate them in a way that allows owners to plug in play their guy as a starter. It seems unfair to have a guaranteed starter. It is not unrealistic to start one of these guys if you are usering them or accept the hole they will create.

*what do you think about some of these*

*universal spd-str-agi-acc for each position (then we do the one intangible they accel in)
*no QB
*keeping in mind the cost to develop some specific stats. Ex. A SS's man coverage cost a lot more than hit power. So to say the same SS with hit power at 89 like you listed, and a SS with 89 man would have took a lot more exp to obtain.

Hit Power is actually really expensive for safeties. Probably just as expensive as man cov once it gets into the upper 80s.

The intention is to give people good-upside project rookies that would be valuable if they put work in on them. It's not unfair because everyone is entitled to the same thing, and none of them are worthy of starting right away.

I don't understand why it's unreasonable to accept that people can consider a position filled by their creation because that means they have to develop them and it'll be a weak spot early on. It won't effect drafting nearly as much as you seem to think. It's one player in your back pocket during draft

My opinion-- if someone chooses to start that created player from the get-go then awesome. They'll be putting a lot of development into the player and it'll be cool to see how far the user can take them in future seasons.

So what about the other stuff?

1) No QB..right?
2) Set spd-str-agi-acc for each position then allowing the other intangible stats to adjust based on the player.

I wonder if there is a Madden player development calculator out there? Like how people do for RPG's. then we could do a set spd-str-agi-acc and a few other stats according to position, then use the calculator to let the owner use the remaining exp how he sees fit.

Yeah... no qb.

Well the speed/str/agi/accel shouldn't be set in stone imo. That's based on size as well and what type of player it is supposed to be. It should all be subjective and unique without being unfair, which is definitely possible.

Then I think we should still have caps on the spd-str-agi-acc. To prevent "yea, let me get a CB, 6' 1", 205 lbs, Like Patrick Peterson, excel in man coverage." Then u could just work on nothing but man till he got to low/mid 90's with practice and games, then do his press, and dump awr after. No less than two years he is a top flight corner on par with the best.

Well you can take any athletic cb and make him elite in 2 season tbh example: Tommie Campbell Chris greenwood etc.

Very true, and another reason why I forsee this being a pain. (Cambell is a Great pickup in a 32 man draft! Now we could have him guarenteed in a sense.) I forsee a lot of bickering about sum1 elses player having too much speed, too much SPC, too much this. I think t will be more benificial for me to just wait and see the players that every1 else does, and once they are OK'd, I'll just pick the one rated the best that fits my scheme.
