1. Los Angeles Eagles: The undefeated season; what more can you say? Don Shula and his fellow 1972 Dolphaggots from the formerly only undefeated team in the Super Bowl era were left stripped of their pride, as they've spent the previous 40 years popping champagne after the last undefeated team in the league lost. That celebration is no more, as Tim Tebow's Eagles squad took it one step further... Or five actually, as far as wins are concerned, and did the unthinkable. It's pretty obvious to place them in position numero uno as their entire roster from a year ago is returning, only improved. That's a scary note for the rest of the league, but will they live up to the repeat expectations? Added pressure and a big target on their chest to just give them one single loss.
2. Oakland Raiders: The Raiders a season ago were left reeling from a shocking defeat at home in the AFC Divisional Round. While it may be the usual routine for their head coach, it was still a crushing defeat to their fan base as the Raiders had gone 15-1 in the regular season and convincingly won their first playoff game. They seemed destined to match up in the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Eagles, but the Indianapolis Colts had other plans. An offseason later with a few additions to their team, the Raiders are focused on finishing up what they hilariously failed to do last year, win the AFC Championship and a chance to play for the Super Bowl crown.
3. Cleveland Browns: The surprise team of the playoffs were the Cleveland Browns who went on the road to defeat the heavily favored Miami Dolphins on the road and an even bigger surprise in knocking off the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game. The Browns however fell just short in the Super Bowl to the Tim Tebow led Los Angeles Eagles.
4. Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins emerged as one of the league's top teams a season ago, earning a first round bye, but ultimately lost to the Cleveland Browns in their first playoff game. The Dolphins' offense is loaded with not only superstars, but speed that will make your head turn. Very few defenses can match up with the speed and talent that these offensive weapons have and the scary thing, the team is young and will continue to improve. Will they be able to duplicate last year's success and continue to be a Super Bowl contender? Maybe.
5. Chicago Bears: The Bears ended last season in the most humiliating and puzzling manner imaginable, as they had the NFC Championship and a Super Bowl visit seemingly sealed. They drove the length of the field and were in position to fall into the endzone to take the lead with little time left. However, Eagles Linebacker Corey Lemonier made an astounding play, forcing the ball free before the ball crossed the plain of the goal line, sealing the victory for the eventual Super Bowl Champions. With revenge on the mind of the Bears, they remain one of the safe picks for a team who could knock off the Eagles on their road to repeating, but will they yet again choke it away?
